The books in this aptly named series of small-scale (7.5 by 4 in.) city and region guides contain a top-10 list on nearly every page. The guide opens with an overview of the featured destination, alongside notes on the top 10 expert-recommended experiences for a day trip, a weekend outing, or a week-long visit. Each top site is followed by its own top 10 list, which can beget yet another list. Thus, each location gets a deep dive, and readers can select from a wide range of places that interest them, including churches, museums, galleries, palaces, squares and fountains, green spaces, famous filming locations, shopping areas, family attractions, nightlife venues, and restaurants. Itineraries and maps are provided, including a pullout. VERDICT For visitors short on time and in search of a petite travel guide that both gets to the point and supports browsing.
